Step by step guide to setting up your email in Macintosh OS X Mail
This guide will take you through the steps to set up your email account in Macintosh Mail version 1.3.
Step One
Load up Mac Mail.
Click 'Mail' then 'Preferences...'
Step Two
A 'Settings' window will appear.
Click the plus symbol at bottom of the window to add a new account.
Step Three
From the 'Account Type:' selection choose 'POP'.
Step Four
Enter the deatils as supplied by Afterglow Media into the corresponding text fields. Enter:
A personal description into the 'Description:' text field.
Your email address into the 'Email Address:' text field.
The name to display on your emails into the 'Full Name:' text field.
Your mail server into the 'Incoming Mail Server:' text field.
Your username into the 'User Name:' text field.
Note: Your username will be your complete email address.
Your password into the 'Password:' text field.
Now we just need to setup your outgoing email server.
Click on the 'Server Settings' button
Step Five
An 'SMTP Server Options' window will appear.
Check the 'Use Secure Sockets Layer (SSL)' checkbox.
Select 'Password' from the 'Authentication' selection.
Enter the deatils as supplied by Afterglow Media into the corresponding text fields. Enter:
Your mail server into the 'Outgoing Mail Server:' text field.
Your username into the 'User Name:' text field.
Note: Your username will be your complete email address.
Your password into the 'Password:' text field.
Click 'OK' button
Step Six
Close the 'Accounts' window.
Choose 'Save' when prompted to save the account.
Your email is now setup in Macintosh Mail.
