Step by step guide to setting up your email in Outlook 2003
 
Step by step guide to setting up your email in Outlook 2003This guide will take you through the steps to set up your email account in Microsoft Outlook version 2003.
Step One
  • Load up Outlook 2003.
  • Click 'Tools' then 'E-mail Accounts...'
     
    Click 'Tools' then 'E-mail Accounts...'
Step Two
  • An 'E-mail Accounts' window will appear.
  • Click 'Add a new e-mail account' then click 'Next'
     
    Click 'Add a new e-mail account' then click 'Next'
Step Three
  • An 'E-mail Accounts' window will appear asking you which server type you are using.
  • Click 'POP3' then click 'Next'
     
    Click 'POP3' then click 'Next'
Step Four
  • An 'E-mail Accounts' window will appear asking for your email settings.
  • Enter the name you would like to appear on your emails into the 'Your Name' text field.
  • Enter your email address as supplied by Afterglow Media into the 'E-mail Address' text field.
     
    Enter your name and email address
  • Enter the incoming and outgoing server names as supplied by Afterglow Media into the 'Incoming mail server' and 'Outgoing mail server' text fields.
     
    Enter your incoming and outgoing mail server names
  • Enter the username provided by Afterglow Media into the 'User Name' text field. (This will be your complete email address)
  • Enter the password provided by Afterglow Media into the 'Password' text field.
  • If you feel secure that no one will access your computer without permission you may like to check 'Remember password'.
  • Ensure that the 'Log on using Secure Password Authentication' is not checked.
     
    Enter your username and password
  • Click the 'More Settings' button.
Step Five
  • An 'Internet E-mail Settings' window will appear.
  • Click the 'Outgoing Server' tab.
     
    Click 'Outgoing Server'
Step Six
  • An 'Internet E-mail Settings' window will appear.
  • Check the 'My outgoing server (SMTP) requires authentication' checkbox.
  • Click 'OK'.

Step Seven
  • On the 'E-mail Accounts' window click 'Next'.
  • Congratulations - your email account has been set up.
  • Click 'Finish' to complete the process.
