This guide will take you through the steps to set up your email account in Macintosh Mail version 1.3.

Step One

• Load up Mac Mail.
• Click 'Mail' then 'Preferences...'
   
  

Step Two

• A 'Settings' window will appear.
• Click the plus symbol at bottom of the window to add a new account.
   
  

Step Three

• From the 'Account Type:' selection choose 'POP'.
   
  

Step Four

• Enter the deatils as supplied by Afterglow Media into the corresponding text fields. Enter:
  • A personal description into the 'Description:' text field.
  • Your email address into the 'Email Address:' text field.
  • The name to display on your emails into the 'Full Name:' text field.
  • Your mail server into the 'Incoming Mail Server:' text field.
  • Your username into the 'User Name:' text field.
  • Note: Your username will be your complete email address.
  • Your password into the 'Password:' text field.
• Now we just need to setup your outgoing email server.
• Click on the 'Server Settings' button
   
  

Step Five

• An 'SMTP Server Options' window will appear.
• Check the 'Use Secure Sockets Layer (SSL)' checkbox.
• Select 'Password' from the 'Authentication' selection.
• Enter the deatils as supplied by Afterglow Media into the corresponding text fields. Enter:
  • Your mail server into the 'Outgoing Mail Server:' text field.
  • Your username into the 'User Name:' text field.
  • Note: Your username will be your complete email address.
  • Your password into the 'Password:' text field.
• Click 'OK' button
   
  

Step Six

• Close the 'Accounts' window.
• Choose 'Save' when prompted to save the account.
• Your email is now setup in Macintosh Mail.
