Setting up email in Mac OS X Mail
Step by step guide to setting up your email in Mac OS X Mail
This guide will take you through the steps to set up your email account in Macintosh Mail version 1.3.
Step One
- Load up Mac Mail.
- Click 'Mail' then 'Preferences...'

Step Two
- A 'Settings' window will appear.
- Click the plus symbol at bottom of the window to add a new account.

Step Three
- From the 'Account Type:' selection choose 'POP'.

Step Four
- Enter the deatils as supplied by Afterglow Media into the corresponding text fields. Enter:
- A personal description into the 'Description:' text field.
- Your email address into the 'Email Address:' text field.
- The name to display on your emails into the 'Full Name:' text field.
- Your mail server into the 'Incoming Mail Server:' text field.
- Your username into the 'User Name:' text field.
- Note: Your username will be your complete email address.
- Your password into the 'Password:' text field.
- Now we just need to setup your outgoing email server.
- Click on the 'Server Settings' button

Step Five
- An 'SMTP Server Options' window will appear.
- Check the 'Use Secure Sockets Layer (SSL)' checkbox.
- Select 'Password' from the 'Authentication' selection.
- Enter the deatils as supplied by Afterglow Media into the corresponding text fields. Enter:
- Your mail server into the 'Outgoing Mail Server:' text field.
- Your username into the 'User Name:' text field.
- Note: Your username will be your complete email address.
- Your password into the 'Password:' text field.
- Click 'OK' button

Step Six
- Close the 'Accounts' window.
- Choose 'Save' when prompted to save the account.
- Your email is now setup in Macintosh Mail.
